Welcome to 52 Friends. A newsletter written by me, Miriam Amdur. âïž
I explore friendship and share my observations of the human condition. Subscribe to read :)
Hey Friend,
Iâm Miriam, a writer from Toronto, Canada but more notably, an observer of the human condition. You may be familiar with my work because I once made it my goal to connect or reconnect with 52 Friends over the course of a year. It was my version of Eat, Pray, Loveâa way out of a period of loneliness.Â
Throughout that year, I shared jokes with my high school history teacher, Mr. Shaw, visited my friend Davida in Dallas, Texas and met many new friends like Lilian and Violette. I also garnered some media attention allowing me to advocate for the prioritization of friendship and raise awareness of the stigma surrounding loneliness.
What is this newsletter?
I am currently working on my debut novel, titled The Salad Days. It will be my exploration of friendships, relationships and other musings. In the meantime, I write updates and share sneak peeks of the book.
I document ideas based on my experiences and interview notable experts on friendship and loneliness.
(Above: Me.)
I sometimes also feel like Iâm a mix of Carrie Bradshaw and Charlotte Yorkâs characters.
Where else can I find you?
You can follow me on Instagram @52.Friends
